What SZNL does

SZNL helps people understand their colour season, discover clothing matched to seasonal colour palettes, save products, and follow links to third-party retailers. We do not sell the products shown on SZNL and we do not receive your payment-card details from retailers.

Information we collect

Why we use your information

• To provide SZNL: to create and secure your account, save your season and wardrobe, run search, and provide the features you ask to use.
• With your consent: to use non-essential cookies and analytics to understand how the site is used and measure affiliate referrals. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
• To operate and protect the service: to fix problems, understand performance, prevent fraud or abuse, and improve SZNL where our interests do not override your rights.
• To meet legal obligations: where the law requires us to keep, use, or disclose information.

Cookies and browser storage

SZNL uses essential cookies to support secure sign-in and basic site operation. We ask before setting non-essential analytics identifiers. If you accept, an anonymous identifier can remain for up to one year and a session identifier is refreshed for up to 30 minutes of activity. Your consent choice can remain for up to 180 days.

We also use browser storage for features such as recent searches and temporary interface state. At present, you can withdraw cookie consent by clearing SZNL's cookies in your browser and reloading the site; the consent banner will appear again. You can also email us if you need help.

Affiliate links

Some retailer links are affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, SZNL may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate tracking does not decide which colour season a product is assigned to.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only when needed with categories of organisations that help us run SZNL, including:

• website hosting and infrastructure providers;
• database, account, and authentication providers;
• analytics and error-monitoring providers;
• content-management and email-delivery providers;
• affiliate networks and retailers for referral and commission tracking; and
• professional advisers, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or another organisation where disclosure is required by law or is reasonably necessary to protect SZNL, our users, or others.

If the business is reorganised, sold, or transferred, information may be shared with the people involved, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.

International processing

Some organisations that help us run SZNL may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use recognised safeguards for those transfers, such as a UK adequacy regulation or approved contractual protections.

How long we keep information

We keep account information while your account is active. Other records are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose they were collected for, including operating the service, resolving problems, preventing fraud, meeting legal and accounting requirements, and dealing with disputes. Cookie lifetimes are described above. Retention periods can vary according to the type of record and the reason it is held.

What happens when you delete your account

You can request account deletion from your account page. This deletes your sign-in account, saved wardrobe, saved season profile, and account roles. Where activity records need to remain for security, reporting, or audit purposes, we remove the direct account link and replace it with a restricted internal deletion reference. Quiz answers linked to the account are removed. The deletion-job record is retained so that we can show the request was completed and investigate a failure if one occurs.

Automated analysis

The colour-season quiz uses your answers to calculate a suggested season. Separately, SZNL uses automated analysis to classify the colours and likely seasonal palette of product images. The product classifier analyses retailer product information and product imagery; it is not used to analyse customer photos. These results provide shopping and styling guidance and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.

Children

SZNL is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls and encrypted connections. No online service can guarantee complete security.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to ask for a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, object to certain uses, and receive data you supplied in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier use of your data.

To exercise a right, email hello@shopsznl.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SZNL changes. We will change the date at the top and give a more prominent notice where an update is significant.
